Requirements

Before applying, you must

• Hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (master’s degree is strongly preferred)
• Take the GMAT or GRE

Prerequisites 

There are no prerequisites for the PhD program. However, the faculty may suggest extra studies if you do not have academic prerequisites that may be expected for the program.

How to Apply

The PhD committee typically begins reviewing applications on February 1.  Application review will continue until the cohort is full. 

• Complete the online Graduate School application 

• Send official undergraduate and graduate transcripts to the Graduate School

• Send GMAT or GRE scores to the Graduate School

Deadline

The PhD committee typically begins reviewing applications on February 1.  Application review will continue until the cohort is full.  The program is designed for fall admission only.

If you would like to be considered for a Presidential Graduate Research Fellowship, you must submit all application materials to the Graduate School by January 10. Each year, the department nominates exceptional applicants for a Presidential Graduate Research Fellowship. The Graduate School at Auburn University selects fellowship recipients from nominations made by all PhD programs on campus. Those chosen receive an additional $15,000 annually for three years in addition to their regular 9-month stipend.
