        Customize your experience with a dual degree

        The Harbert College of Business offers you the opportunity to get a second master’s degree. Graduating with a dual degree will greatly increase your perceived value and earning potential among employers. Check out the information below to see details on the three available dual degree options.

        Admission Requirements

        Please keep in mind that admission to one masters program does not guarantee admission into another masters program. In order to be considered for the dual degree options, you must meet the following admissions requirements:

        • Minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75
        • GMAT (preferred) or GRE scores
        • Official transcripts from all institutions attended
        • Personal statement
        • Résumé
        • Two letters of recommendation

        Dual Degree Options

        • Master of Science in Finance Online

          Overview

          The MBA and the Master of Science in Finance (MSF) dual degree requires a minimum number of total credit hours for degrees to be completed. With planning, you can choose to add a graduate certificate in addition to the master’s degrees.

          Required Coursework

          Core Courses:

          • BUSI 7110 Financial Analysis
          • BUSI 7120 Quantitative Analysis for Business Decisions
          • BUSI 7130 Strategic Analysis and the Competitive Environment
          • BUSI 7140 Organizational Leadership, Ethics, and Change
          • BUSI 7150 Operations Excellence through Supply Chain and Quality
          • BUSI 7210 Strategic Marketing Management
          • BUSI 7220 Information Technology for the Competitive Advantage
          • BUSI 7230 Cost Analysis and Systems
          • BUSI 7310 Integrated Business Project and Case Analysis
          • FINC 7650 Applied Financial Management

          Electives:

          • 12 credit hours of graduate-level finance courses
          • 12 credit hours of graduate-level free elective courses from the College of Business

          Program Requirements

          You will be required to take BUSI 7310 Integrated Business Project and Case Analysis (TRAC) near the end of the program. TRAC students work on a live case for a local, regional, national, or international client and present findings at the end of the semester. 

        • Master of Science in Information Systems Online

          Overview

          The MBA and the Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) dual degree requires a minimum number of total credit hours for degrees to be completed. With planning, you can choose to add a graduate certificate in addition to the master’s degrees.

          • 18 credit hours of graduate-level information systems or business analytics courses

          Program Requirements

          In addition to completing the coursework listed, you will be required to complete a major project in your last semester. For this project, you will work with a faculty advisor on an approved topic and present it near the end of the semester. This project can be completed and presented at a distance.

          You will be required to take BUSI 7310 Integrated Business Project and Case Analysis (TRAC) near the end of the program. TRAC students work on a live case for a local, regional, national, or international client and present findings at the end of the semester. 

        • Master of Science in Industrial & Systems Engineering Online

          Overview

          The MBA and the Master of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering (MISE) dual degree requires a minimum number of total credit hours for degrees to be completed. This dual degree program is in partnership with the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering. With planning, you can choose to add a graduate certificate in addition to the master’s degrees.

          • 6 credit hours of graduate-level coursework approved by the MISE advisor

          Program Requirements

        • Master of Science in Supply Chain Management Online

          Overview

          The MBA and the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (SCMN) dual degree requires a minimum number of 57 total credit hours for degrees to be completed. With planning, you can choose to add a graduate certificate in addition to the master’s degrees.
