Auburn University students who have ideas for business ventures or products will soon have a chance to compete for a share of $50,000 in funding through the Tiger Cage business pitch competition.

Presented by the Raymond J. Harbert College of Business, Tiger Cage rewards the best early-stage products, services or business concepts that emerge from Auburn University students of all academic majors. The kickoff event for the 2018 Tiger Cage competition will be held Wednesday, September 27 at 5:30 p.m. in Lowder Hall 113-A.

The competition is open to on-campus and online students from each of the university’s colleges and schools. Working as individuals or teams, contestants will have the opportunity to pitch their concepts to a group of industry leaders and win prizes that will help in jump-starting their businesses. The finals of Tiger Cage will be held on Friday, April 6, 2018 as part of the two-day Auburn University Entrepreneurship Summit.

The grand prize winner will earn $25,000. Second place will receive $10,000, third place will earn $6,000 and the fourth place finisher will earn $4,000. A $1,000 People’s Choice Award, voted on by event attendees, will also be presented.
