We accept applications for admission into the PhD in FInance for the Fall semester each year

PhD in Finance Requirements

Before applying, you must

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or foreign institution with equivalent standards
  • Take the GMAT or GRE

Prerequisites

You should have taken one or more courses in finance, economics, and accounting. Additionally, a strong background in statistics and/or mathematics is preferred. If you do not have the academic prerequisites that are expected for the program, the faculty may suggest extra studies for you to take. 

How to Apply for a PhD in Finance

We encourage applications from students who are passionate about research and possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Complete the online Graduate School application at: aub.ie/GradAppPortal
  • Include a personal statement of interest and at least two letters of recommendation
  • Send official undergraduate and graduate transcripts and GMAT or GRE scores to the Graduate School
  • International students must submit TOEFL/IELTS scores to the Graduate School

If you complete the online Graduate School application, the department will not need additional information unless it is specifically requested by the PhD Advisor. Should you need to send any additional materials, attach them in an email to yzw0088@auburn.edu

Application Deadline for the PhD in Finance

Complete applications must be on file by February 1 for the following fall semester.
